Okay, I recently watched the Lion King remake, and I’ve also noticed some people on YouTube aren’t too happy with it.
To that, I say can we please stop throwing so much hate at it? It’s not a perfect remake, I won’t lie, but it does have its redeeming qualities to it. For one the music. And the casting choice was amazing, and the fact we get an origin for Scar (something the original didn’t have) and many mistakes and goofs were fixed, so overall in spite of its flaws I like it.
And besides it’s not called a REMAKE for nothing. If you want the charm of the original Lion King, then stop hating the remake and go watch the original Lion King for crying out loud! If you want something new added to the classic Disney take we all know and love, then leave your expectations at the door, and watch the remake and find at least one change that’s you like.
Personally I like the extended version of the Lion Sleeps Tonight (you won’t believe how many times I hit the replay button in that one) and my mom likes the new Be Prepared, as short as it was, because it went really well with Scar’s plot to kill his own brother. Not to mention the dynamic between Timon and Pumbaa, and the fact they aren’t the only animals living in that jungle area.
If you made it to the end, thank you for listening (or I guess reading) my ramblings. I really hope that whoever’s reading this will have a different point of view about the Lion King remake. If you don’t like it, fine, go back to the original from your childhood, but don’t ruin it for the people who enjoy it, by dumping all your hate and disappointment all over it, okay? Please? And thank you.
